I have not written anything in a while which means school is in full swing. I am very happy at my new esquela & now that I don’t get called in for my too trendy clothes it is a breeze. In my personal life, however, I feel like I am on a constant roller coaster. Just when I get comfortable in a situation things seem to turn upside down. It has been a struggle to let it go & out it all in God’s hands lately, but I will continue to try my best to do that. My sweet Logan turned 1 today & he is as handsome as ever & still a handful. Lilly will always be my sweet girl & he will never be as good as she is, but that’s ok he is all boy!

Too trendy?
Posted in Uncategorized on September 21, 2008 by klp1975This past week I was told that I dress too trendy for my school. I have never heard of such a thing, but indeed it exists. Instead of typing my feelings about the subject, I have decided to compile pictures of possible things I may wear to school in the future.
Happy Birthday Lilly!
Posted in Uncategorized on September 4, 2008 by klp1975My sweet Lilly is nine years old today. She is such a good dog, but has had such a hard little life. She had surgery on her ear Friday, and the vet said it is healing incredibly. She has lost some of her hearing though, but that’s ok she has Logan to hear for her. I have been staying with the Yancey girls for the past two nights & the dogs are thrilled to have me home right now. They are both peering out the window growling at something. I’m sure a cat. I am so tired right now I have nothing witty to say, so I will close for now. I’m sure I will have some good school stories soon.
Back to School
Posted in Uncategorized on August 21, 2008 by klp1975Everytime I hear that phrase I think of Billy Madison & I start singing~”back to school, back to school, to show my dad I’m not a fool…” This was my first week back at work, minus kids, and who would have thought I would be so excited to start a new year? I absolutely love my new school & I am excited to get started. I still have a few random lifeguarding days, so more stories to come. Right now I can hear Logan outside howling & disturbing the peace, so I’m off to get him inside & get to bed!
Logan’s “Walk”
Posted in Uncategorized on August 17, 2008 by klp1975I have been staying with the girls I take care of all weekend. The younger one, Morgann, and I would walk my dogs each day so they still would be exerciseded. Friday we set off to the creek to let Logan swim. Genius that I am, I forgot about the fact that it had poured that morning. By the time our shoes were really muddy it was too late to turn back. We got to the bend in the creek where Logan swims & he immediately takes off down to the creek & jumps in. Coming down the embankment, Morgann slips & slides down in the mud. Being only ten, this was just fine with her. The current was really strong because of the rain and there was a lot of debris in the water. Logan loves chewing on sticks & so he goes after one, but ends up falling in deepwater. This was his first actual swim & he looked panicked to me. Instead of swimming to the shore he was swimming against the current. I guess the lifeguard in me kicked in & I immediately took off my shoes & socks so I could wade out to get him. Of course I slip and fall in the creek & by the time I get up, Logan is fine and almost to me. Morgann loved it and told me it was the best walk she had ever been on. We were quite a sight walking home & people slowed down to check us out…all three wet & covered in mud. I got home and had to hose all three of us down & throw my tennis shoes away. I wish I had pictures of what we looked like after this walk, but alas none were taken.

Man’s Bathing Suit Ripped to Shreds!
Posted in Uncategorized on August 6, 2008 by klp1975
Last Wednesday I was working at the bottom of the yellow slide. Giving my amazing thumbs up to the dispatcher at the top. I am not sure the state of this one man’s bathing suit at the top of the slide, but when he got to the bottom, it was absolutely ripped to shreds. One side was ripped from elestic waist to hem. The pocket was haning off in the back & Igot an eyeful. Tthe other leg was torn up too. Sadly enough, he didn’t realize it because it was all stuck to him & wet. I had to send someone over to tell him & he was shocked~as we all were. The look on is wife’s face when she saw him was priceless. He tried to have it duct taped in first aide, but that was a no go. He had to wrap a towel arounf him & drive over to Wal-Mart to buy a new one. Be warned people~don’t try to wear your 80s bating suits to the park…
Cellulite Ads
Posted in Uncategorized on July 28, 2008 by klp1975We’ve all seen them. Pictures of women in swimsuits showing off their cellulite. My question is this~what exactly did the casting call for these models read? “WANTED-models who are thin, but have dimply thighs. Must be willing to wear a swimsuit. Shots will be from the waist down.” How much do these gigs pay? I need to know what agent I should contact to be a model. I don’t have a lot of cellulite, but my inner thighs could be thinner, my stomach isn’t even close to flat, and I have no waist. I would be more than willing to let it all hang out for shots that are from the neck down!

I know my stories sound fake, but I swear I do not make these things up. Last night (but still broad daylight) I was walking the boys, Logan (mine) and Drifter (Meg’s) down Spring Creek. There are several cul-de-sacs (which I think is actually culs-de-sac, but that sounds odd and I am not saying it; just know that I know that is the correct way) that back up to Spring Creek. They only have houses halfway around so there is an open space where you can see down the streets. I saw the top of a furry head, assumed it was a cat & prayed the boys wouldn’t see it. I knew there was no way I would be able to hold both of them back. As we got closer I realized it was not cat. It was FOUR, yes, FOUR raccoons walking down the sidewalk together. They were all but holding hands and skipping. Logan saw them and then they saw the 150 lbs. of dog being walked in their direction & quickly jumped in the gutter one after another. He was not sure what they were or what to do & he got excited, but that was about it. I am so glad Drifter did not see them, but am thankful that his shear size was intimidating. At this point, if I saw a bear on a unicycle in my neighborhood I would not be the least bit surprised.

Well, the glue came off my arm and the scar is SO much better than the Frankenstein gash I thought it would be. Yeah Dr. Madsen! He told me it would not be bad, but the glue was very misleading. I am now putting mederma on it everyday & rubbing it down so it won’t be a raised scar. However, that seems like a moot point since my arms are so skinny the plate sticks up out of my skin. My limbs are about the only skinny things on my body, so while I am thankful for them, I could live without a plate sticking out of my arm. I am sicked out by the little bit of stitch sticking out of the bottom of the scar. I need that to dissolve ASAP.
My mom sent me some pics of the dogs she took while she was here. I am posting one of them. I am clearly drugged up and passed out on the couch & all of the dogs are lying next to me. Logan with his arm around Dallie is so sweet. He is just completely smitten with her.
